The N9K-C9348GC-FXP is a Cisco Nexus 9300-FX Series 1RU switch for data center racks that connect management and 1G devices over copper. The switch has 48 100M/1G BASE-T downlinks, four 1/10/25G SFP28 downlinks, two 40/100G QSFP28 uplinks and 696 Gbps of bandwidth, with over 517 Mpps of forwarding and three fan modules. MACsec runs only on ports 49 to 54, so the 48 BASE-T ports are not covered.

Key Features
All 48 BASE-T ports stop at 1G, which suits management and appliance interfaces. There are no 10GBASE-T ports on this model.
The SFP28 ports run at 1G, 10G or 25G, so a few fiber-attached hosts sit in the same chassis as the copper devices.
Two fixed QSFP28 ports carry the upstream links at 40G or 100G. The 696 Gbps of bandwidth is what those uplinks share with the access side.
From NX-OS 9.3(1), MACsec is limited to ports 49 through 54. The 48 BASE-T ports do not take part in encryption.
Supplies are 350W AC, 350W high-voltage or 440W DC, with typical draw of 178W and a maximum of 287W. Two slots give a 1+1 arrangement.
The three fan modules and both power supplies must use the same airflow direction, port-side intake or port-side exhaust. AC and DC sources cannot be mixed.
Application Scenarios
In a data center management network, the switch connects server BMC ports, storage controllers and appliance management interfaces over 100M and 1G copper, then uplinks on QSFP28.
A fabric that runs Cisco ACI can use the switch in ACI mode as the leaf for devices that only need 100M or 1G, with the minimum image at ACI-N9KDK9-13.0.
A rack of mostly 1G copper hosts can also hang a few fiber-attached servers on the four SFP28 ports, which run at 1G, 10G or 25G.

N9K-C9348GC-FXP and N9K-C9348GC-FX3 share the same 48 x 100M/1G BASE-T ports, four SFP28 ports, two QSFP28 uplinks and 696 Gbps, but N9K-C9348GC-FX3 carries 32 GB of memory against 24 GB and is listed as a Nexus 2000 FEX parent, which Cisco’s FEX matrix does not list for N9K-C9348GC-FXP. Servers that need 10GBASE-T copper move to N9K-C93108TC-FX, with 48 ports at 100M, 1G or 10G, six 40/100G QSFP28 uplinks and 2.16 Tbps. Racks wired for 48 fiber ports at 1G, 10G or 25G move to N9K-C93180YC-FX at 3.6 Tbps. MACsec on N9K-C9348GC-FXP is limited to ports 49 to 54.
Ordering Checklist
- Airflow direction: Order fans NXA-FAN-30CFM-B or NXA-FAN-30CFM-F with supplies in the matching -PI or -PE version, such as NXA-PAC-350W-PI or NXA-PDC-440W-PE. Fans and supplies are separate PIDs per direction, so the order must carry one direction throughout.
- Supply type: Select 350W AC (NXA-PAC-350W-PI or NXA-PAC-350W-PE) or 440W DC (NXA-PDC-440W-PI or NXA-PDC-440W-PE). The supply PID decides the site power input; up to two supplies fit.
- Power cords: Add a cord for the site, such as CAB-9K12A-NA, CAB-9K10A-EU or CAB-C13-C14-2M. The datasheet lists cords per country, separate from the supplies.
- Rack-mount kit: Add NXK-ACC-KIT-1RU (4-post) or NXK-ACC-KIT-2P (2-post). The 2-post kit is supported on this model only; the family datasheet lists the 4-post kit for all N9300-FX models.
- NX-OS license: Select a GF-class PID, such as NXOS-AD-GF for a perpetual Advantage license. XF-class PIDs are for 10G to 100G fixed platforms, and a perpetual DCN license cannot be moved to another switch later.
- Security add-on: Add ACI-SEC-XF when MACsec will run on the uplink ports. The licensing guide lists ACI-SEC-XF as needed for the N9K-C9348GC-FXP uplink ports.
