IE-9320-26S2C-A Description
The IE-9320-26S2C-A is a Cisco Catalyst IE9300 Rugged Series industrial switch for fiber aggregation in substations and roadside hub cabinets. The switch has 22 Gigabit SFP downlinks, two dual-media combo ports and four 100/1000M SFP uplinks without PoE, with power modules that take 18-75V DC or 85-264V AC input and an operating range of -40°C to 75°C in a forced-air cabinet, in a 1RU rack-mount chassis. The Network Advantage license adds TrustSec over PRP to HSR and PRP, and AVB is not supported.

Product Performance
Key Features
Twenty-two SFP downlinks and two dual-media ports can take 100M to Gigabit optics, including industrial BX and CWDM or DWDM modules. The two dual-media ports can use RJ45 copper instead.
Two StackWise ports join up to four chassis into one managed unit, and MRP over Stacking carries ring redundancy across members. The IE-9310 line cannot stack.
Network Advantage adds BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, VRF-lite and BGP-EVPN over VXLAN, plus SD-Access Fabric Edge Node duty. The aggregation layer can join a campus or utility fabric instead of stopping at static routes.
The 26S2C hardware supports HSR, PRP and PTP over PRP, and the Advantage license adds TrustSec over PRP, so duplicated zero-loss paths can carry group-based policy.
PTP Power Profile 2011 and 2017, IEC 61850-9-3 Power Utility Profile and NTP-PTP interworking handle grid synchronization. GNSS and IRIG-B ports are not part of this model.
Two field-replaceable power slots take 150W low-voltage DC or 150W, 250W and 400W AC-DC modules with isolated outputs, which supports separate A and B feeds in classified rooms.
Application Scenarios
In an IEC 61850-3 control house, the switch terminates fiber from protection relays, merging units and bay controllers, and PRP keeps the two LANs lossless.
Along an ITS or smart-city corridor under NEMA TS2:2021, the switch aggregates intersection and roadside cabinets, and stacked chassis grow with each build phase.
At mining, oil and gas or water sites where field devices sit kilometers apart on single-mode fiber, the switch works in Class I Div 2 classified electrical rooms.

IE-9320-26S2C-A and IE-9320-26S2C-E share the same 22 SFP downlinks, two combo ports, four 1G SFP uplinks and 41.66 Mpps, but IE-9320-26S2C-A carries Network Advantage, which adds BGP, EIGRP, VRF-lite, TrustSec, MACsec-256, L3 NAT and SD-Access fabric roles. Sites that need only OSPF, HSR/PRP and MRP can drop to IE-9320-26S2C-E, since Essentials already includes them. 10G uplinks, GNSS/IRIG-B timing or conformal coating call for IE-9320-22S2C4X-A, which reaches 95.23 Mpps and 128 Gbps but draws 73W against 64W with a 323,733-hour MTBF. AVB is not supported on IE-9320-26S2C-A.
Ordering Checklist
- Power modules: Select PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H (24-60V DC feed) or PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H / -250 / -400 (85-264V AC or 88-300V DC), up to two per switch. The module must match the site feed; this model has no PoE, so the 150W, 250W and 400W choices do not change PoE.
- License bundle: Network Advantage ships with Cyber Vision Advantage CV-A-IE (3 years, 24 endpoints) on orders from 2025-08-23, so CV-A-IE is already included. Catalyst Center term licenses are IE9300-DNA-A, 3, 5 or 7 years, and optional; DNA Advantage pairs only with a Network Advantage switch.
- SD card: Add SD-IE-16GB= if the switch needs a configuration backup for replacement. The 16 GB SD card is optional and is not added unless ordered.
- Stack cables: Add CAB-STK-0.5M= or CAB-STK-1M= for each added member, up to 4 members. Stack members need these cables, which are ordered as separate parts.
- Industrial optics and combo ports: Order GLC-SX/LX/ZX-RGD, GLC-BX -I or ONS-SI-GE optics; GLC-T, GLC-TE and GLC-T-RGD are not supported on the dual-media combo ports. Copper SFPs fail on combo ports and degrade PTP, and non-industrial SFPs need derating.
