C1300-8FP-2G Description
The C1300-8FP-2G is a Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series managed Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ switch for small branch and retail cabinets that power phones, cameras and access points. The switch has eight 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports, two Gigabit copper/SFP combo uplinks, a 120W PoE budget and 20.0 Gbps of nonblocking switching capacity in a fanless chassis. Each combo uplink runs on its copper port or its SFP slot, one at a time, and the switch does not belong to any C1300 stacking Family.

Key Features
All eight ports are PoE+ and share one 120W pool, about 15W per port if every port draws power at once. A handful of phones and access points fit comfortably, while several 30W devices do not.
Each of the two uplink positions pairs a copper port with an SFP slot, and only one side is active at a time. The handoff can be copper at one site and fiber at the next without changing the switch.
The 100-240V supply is built into the chassis, so the switch needs only a power cord and no external adapter.
With no fan and a 268 x 297 x 43.94 mm body, the switch fits retail stores, classrooms and open-plan offices outside the wiring closet. Rack mounting needs a separate compact bracket.
The switch is outside every C1300 stacking Family, so each unit is managed on its own rather than as part of a single-IP stack.
With PoE loaded the switch draws 145.44W at 110V, against 14.59W without it, and dissipates 496.26 BTU/hr. Size the circuit and any UPS from the loaded figure.
Application Scenarios
In a small office, the switch powers IP phones and a few wireless access points from its eight PoE+ ports, and the combined endpoint draw has to stay inside the 120W budget.
A retail store can place the fanless switch in a back-office cabinet outside the wiring closet, where it feeds IP cameras and wired endpoints over a single cable each.
At a branch where the link to the site router is fiber, a Gigabit SFP in a combo slot carries the uplink, and where the handoff is copper the RJ-45 side of the same position does the job.

C1300-8FP-2G is the 120W model of this 8-port group: all eight ports are PoE+ and the supply is internal, while C1300-8P-E-2G has the same eight PoE+ ports on 67W with an external supply, and C1300-8T-E-2G keeps the combo uplinks with no PoE output. Endpoint loads above 67W, such as several cameras and access points, belong on C1300-8FP-2G rather than C1300-8P-E-2G, and data-only access needs only C1300-8T-E-2G. Beyond eight powered ports or 120W, C1300-16FP-2G offers 16 PoE+ ports on 240W and 36.0 Gbps, with two dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks in place of combo ports. C1300-8FP-2G is outside every stacking family, so a design that needs hardware stacking moves to a C1300 Family 1 model such as C1300-24P-4X.

Ordering Checklist
- Combo uplink media: Choose a Cisco-listed 1G SFP such as GLC-SX-MMD (550 m multimode), GLC-LH-SMD (10 km single-mode) or GLC-TE (100 m on Cat 5e) for each combo position on fiber or SFP copper; without one it runs on its RJ-45 side only.
- Rack bracket: Add RCKMNT-CMPCT-1K= if the switch goes in a 19-inch rack. Only 24-port and 48-port models include a 19-inch bracket; 8-port models use this separate kit.
- Power cord: Keep the cord in the package or select NO-POWER-CORD, which leaves the box without a cord that must be sourced separately.
