C1300-48FP-4X Description
The C1300-48FP-4X is a Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series fixed managed Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ switch for branch and campus closets that need 10G uplinks to the aggregation layer. The switch has 48 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports, 4 10G SFP+ uplinks, a 740W PoE budget and 176 Gbps of switching capacity. Stacking is limited to C1300 Family 1 models, and OSPF routing runs only on C1300X models.

Product Performance
Key Features
All 48 ports are rated 30W PoE+ but draw on one 740W pool, about 15.4W per port when every port is powered at once. A closet with many 30W devices needs its power plan set below the sum of the port ratings.
Four SFP+ slots carry the uplinks, and 176 Gbps of switching capacity sits behind the 48 gigabit ports. SFP-10G-SR reaches 400 m over multimode fiber and SFP-10G-LR reaches 10 km over single-mode.
Up to eight C1300 Family 1 switches join one stack under a single IP address with hardware failover. A stack manages at most 400 ports, below the 416 that eight of these 52-port units would provide.
IPv4 and IPv6 routing at wire speed, RIP v2, policy-based routing and a built-in DHCP server and relay keep traffic between VLANs on the switch at a small site.
The Cisco Business Dashboard probe runs on the switch itself, with no separate probe hardware or virtual machine. Cisco Network Plug and Play supports near-zero-touch provisioning of new units.
With PoE fully used, worst-case draw is 874.52W at 110V and 831.71W at 220V, against 49.89W without PoE, and heat output is 2983.99 BTU/hr. The single fan runs at 48.7 dBA at 25°C, a level that fits a closet more than an open office.
Application Scenarios
In a campus camera closet, the switch powers PoE+ cameras on all 48 ports from one 740W budget and sends their traffic upstream over 10G SFP+ links.
On a branch office floor, the switch powers IP phones and access points and routes between VLANs at wire speed, then hands traffic to the site core over its SFP+ uplinks.
A closet that outgrows 48 ports can add more C1300 Family 1 switches, and up to eight units are then managed as one stack under a single IP address.

C1300-48FP-4X and C1300-48P-4X have the same 48 PoE+ ports and 4 x 10G SFP+ uplinks, but C1300-48FP-4X carries a 740W PoE budget where C1300-48P-4X is listed at 370W, so the endpoint load decides between them. Where the upstream handoff is 1G, C1300-48FP-4G keeps the 740W budget with 4 x 1G SFP uplinks and 104.0 Gbps of switching capacity, and it is not in the C1300 Family 1 stacking list. Ordering Checklist
- SFP+ modules: Add modules or cables for the 4 x 10G SFP+ uplinks from the Catalyst 1300 list, such as SFP-10G-SR (26 to 400 m multimode), SFP-10G-LR (10 km single-mode), SFP-10G-T-X (30 m over CAT6A/CAT7 or better) or SFP-H10GB-CU3M (3 m copper coax).
- Stack interconnect: Add 10G links for the stack ports of a stacked unit, preferably direct attach cables such as SFP-H10GB-CU1M, and use C1300 Family 1 members only. Stacking needs at least 2 stack ports per unit, and units from different families cannot stack.
- Power cord: Keep the power cord included in the box, or select NO-POWER-CORD, which ships the switch without a cord.
