C1300X-24P-4X Description
The C1300X-24P-4X is a Cisco Catalyst 1300X Series fixed managed Layer 3 PoE+ switch for branch offices and small businesses that power IP phones and wireless access points at the edge. The switch has 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports sharing a 385W PoE budget, four SFP28 uplinks at 10G, 128 Gbps of switching capacity and a 3 MB packet buffer. Stacking of up to eight units accepts only C1300X Family models, and OSPF v2 and v3 routing runs on this C1300X model.

Key Features
All 24 ports draw from one 385W pool at up to 30W PoE+ each. Twelve full-class ports use 360W and a thirteenth would reach 390W, so the budget rather than the port count caps full-class endpoints.
Active/standby stack control, auto-numbering and hot swap let a member be added or replaced in a C1300X Family stack. Fast stack failover keeps traffic loss minimal when a unit drops out.
OSPF v2 and v3 sit beside RIP v2 and policy-based routing, backed by 7,168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces. The switch can peer with an upstream router and keep inter-VLAN routing at the branch edge.
The unit idles at 13.6W at 110V and 16.6W at 220V, while worst-case draw with PoE loaded reaches 487W and 474W. Circuit sizing has to allow for the loaded figure even in a lightly used closet.
Time-based PoE switches PoE power on or off on a user-defined schedule to save energy, while persistent PoE provides power during a switch reboot. Attached phones and access points stay powered through a restart.
The four SFP28 slots run 10G toward the core and reach 25G only for stacking. Optics and cables for the uplinks are planned at 10G.
Application Scenarios
In a branch office, the switch sits at the access edge of the floor, powering IP phones and wireless access points while it hands traffic to the site router over its SFP28 uplink slots.
A unified communications rollout can use the voice VLAN and discovery-based port roles to bring IP phones onto the network alongside desktop endpoints.
IP surveillance cameras at a small site take power and data over a single Ethernet cable each, with the 385W budget set against their combined draw.

C1300X-24P-4X and C1300-24P-4X both carry 24 x 10/100/1000 30W PoE+ ports, but C1300-24P-4X has a 195W budget against 385W, 4 x SFP+ instead of SFP28, a 1.5 MB buffer against 3 MB, and no OSPF; it suits a closet that draws under 195W and needs no OSPF. A closet that needs more than 385W or more than 24 powered ports moves to C1300X-48P-4X, with 48 ports on a 740W budget. Endpoints that need 60W or more than 1G call for C1300X-24MU-4X, which runs all 24 ports at 2.5G, with 8 at 60W PoE++, on 740W. Stacking stays inside one family: C1300-24P-4X is in C1300 Family 1, the other three in the C1300X Family.

Ordering Checklist
- Stack members: C1300X-24P-4X stacks only with C1300X Family PIDs, up to 8 units, over its SFP28 slots (25G for stacking only). Buy SFP-25G-AOC1M, SFP-H25G-CU1M or another supported 25G stack link separately; C1300 Family 1 and Family 2 models cannot join.
- Uplink optics: Add a 10G module from the supported list, such as SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, SFP-10G-ER or SFP-10G-AOC1M, to each of the 4 SFP28 slots. The slots ship empty and the uplink runs at 10G on this model.
- Power cord: A power cord matched to the site outlet ships in the package. Select NO-POWER-CORD to leave it out, and the box then has no cord.
