C1300X-24MU-4X Description
The C1300X-24MU-4X is a Cisco Catalyst 1300X Series fixed managed Layer 3 multigigabit PoE+/PoE++ switch for branch offices that power Wi-Fi access points and IP phones. The switch has 24 2.5G ports, 16 rated 30W PoE+ and 8 rated 60W PoE++, sharing a 740W budget, with four SFP28 uplinks at 10G, 200 Gbps of switching capacity and one 47.9 dBA fan. Stacking of up to eight units works only within the C1300X Family.

Key Features
All 24 ports are 2.5G, 16 rated 30W PoE+ and 8 rated 60W PoE++. The 8 PoE++ ports serve full-featured Wi-Fi 7 access points, while phones and lower-draw access points take the 16 PoE+ ports.
At class maximum, the 16 PoE+ ports account for 480W and the 8 PoE++ ports another 480W, 960W in all against the 740W budget. The budget, not the port count, limits how many endpoints draw full class power at once.
The four SFP28 slots run 10G uplinks and reach 25G only for stacking, so uplink optics and cables are planned at 10G. Up to eight C1300X Family units stack under one IP address with hot swap and active/standby control.
OSPF v2 and v3 are limited to C1300X models, so this switch can exchange routes with an OSPF-speaking upstream router. Up to 7,168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces keep inter-VLAN routing at the branch edge.
The unit dissipates 2989.04 BTU/hr, draws up to 870.4W at 110V with PoE loaded, and its single fan is rated 47.9 dBA at 25°C. The room has to hold -5° to 50°C with that heat added and accept that noise level.
Persistent PoE keeps access points powered while the switch reboots, and time-based PoE turns power on or off on a user-defined schedule to save energy.
Application Scenarios
In a branch-office floor closet, the switch powers Wi-Fi access points and IP phones over 2.5G ports, with the 60W PoE++ ports taking the access points that need more than 30W.
A back office or equipment room next to an open-plan office, classroom or retail floor can hold the switch to power the access points and phones that serve the space, where a 47.9 dBA fan is acceptable.
When the powered 2.5G port count on a branch floor outgrows one 24-port unit, several C1300X Family units can be stacked under one management IP address, with link aggregation spanning the members.

C1300X-24MU-4X and C1300X-24NGU-4X share 740W and 60W PoE++ on eight ports, but C1300X-24MU-4X runs all 24 ports at 2.5G, while C1300X-24NGU-4X has 16 ports at 1G and 8 at 5G, which suits up to eight 5G access points. C1300-24MGP-4X cuts the budget to 375W, has no 60W ports or OSPF, and sits in C1300 Family 1, so it cannot stack with C1300X models. C1300X-24P-4X keeps OSPF and C1300X Family stacking but gives every port 1G and 30W PoE+ on 385W. Start from 60W ports and port speed, then pick the budget tier.

Ordering Checklist
- SFP28 uplink modules: Add a 10G module or cable per used SFP28 slot, such as SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR or SFP-10G-AOC1M. The four slots are SFP28 with 10G as the uplink speed.
- Stack links: For a stack, add modules or cables for the SFP28 slots, such as SFP-H25G-CU1M or SFP-25G-AOC1M, with members from the C1300X Family only. The SFP28 slots offer 25G for stacking only, and Family members cannot stack with C1300 models.
- Power cord: Keep the cord in the package or select NO-POWER-CORD. With NO-POWER-CORD selected the box has no cord, so one must be sourced separately.
