C1300X-24NGU-4X Description
The C1300X-24NGU-4X is a Cisco Catalyst 1300X Series fixed managed Layer 3 PoE++ switch for small offices and branch sites that run IP phones beside high-power wireless access points. The switch has 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports, eight 5G PoE++ ports and four SFP28 uplinks at 10G, with a 740W PoE budget and 192 Gbps of switching capacity. Stacking of up to eight units accepts only C1300X Family models, and the SFP28 slots reach 25G only on stack links.

Product Performance
Key Features
Sixteen Gigabit ports are rated 30W PoE+ and eight 5G ports are rated 60W PoE++. Phones and cameras stay on the larger group, and the faster ports are kept for access points and other endpoints that need more than 30W.
Eight ports at 60W commit 480W of the 740W budget, which leaves 260W for the sixteen PoE+ ports. Every port at its full class rating cannot draw at the same time.
The four SFP28 slots run 10G toward the core and reach 25G only when they carry stack links. Uplink optics and cables are therefore planned at 10G.
Up to eight C1300X Family switches stack under one IP address with hardware failover. A floor that outgrows 24 ports adds members instead of replacing the switch.
OSPF v2 and v3 run beside RIP v2 and policy-based routing, backed by 7,168 IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces. The switch can route between VLANs and learn paths from an upstream router.
The single fan is rated 49.5 dBA at 25°C, and the unit dissipates 3104.3 BTU/hr. The room that holds the switch has to carry away that heat and accept that sound level.
Application Scenarios
On a branch office floor, the eight 5G PoE++ ports power high-power wireless access points, while the 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports feed IP phones and desktop drops from the same switch.
A retail store or school can mount the switch in a back-room rack, where it powers phones and access points and routes between VLANs with OSPF toward the upstream router.
In an office waiting room or hotel lobby, guest VLAN and web authentication keep visitor devices apart from the voice VLAN that carries the IP phones.

C1300X-24NGU-4X has 16 x 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports and 8 x 5G PoE++ ports on 24 PoE-capable ports, while C1300X-48NGU-4X keeps the same eight 5G ports and 740W budget but spreads it over 48 PoE-capable ports, with 240 Gbps and an 8 MB buffer. Endpoints that all draw 30W or less at 1G fit C1300X-24P-4X, whose 385W budget covers 24 PoE+ ports and which has no 60W or 5G ports. A floor that needs all 24 ports at 2.5G moves to C1300X-24MU-4X, which keeps 8 ports at 60W on the same 740W budget with 200 Gbps. All four models have 4 x SFP28 slots with 10G uplinks and stack within the C1300X Family.
PoE Power Planning
|
Planning Item |
Value or Check |
|---|---|
|
Pool size |
One 740W budget covers all 24 PoE-capable ports, so every powered endpoint draws from the same pool |
|
Class split |
16 ports are rated 30W PoE+ (10/100/1000) and 8 ports 60W PoE++ (5G) |
|
Endpoint placement |
Place endpoints that draw more than 30W on the 8 PoE++ ports (802.3bt Type 3) and the rest on the 16 PoE+ ports (802.3at) |
|
Load total |
Add the rated draw of the endpoints on both port groups and compare that sum with 740W rather than with the sum of the port ratings |
|
Wall draw |
Worst-case draw with PoE loaded is 909.8W at 110V and 870.8W at 220V, from an internal universal supply rated 100-240V 50-60 Hz |
|
Schedule and reboot behavior |
Time-based PoE switches PoE power on or off on a user-defined schedule, and persistent PoE keeps power on while the switch reboots |
Ordering Checklist
- Stack members: C1300X-24NGU-4X stacks only with C1300X Family PIDs, up to 8 units, over its SFP28 slots (25G for stacking only). Buy SFP-25G-AOC1M, SFP-H25G-CU1M or another supported 25G stack link separately; C1300 Family 1 and Family 2 models cannot join.
- Uplink optics: Add a 10G module from the supported list, such as SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, SFP-10G-ER or SFP-10G-AOC1M, to each of the 4 SFP28 slots. The slots ship empty and the uplink runs at 10G on this model.
- Power cord: A power cord matched to the site outlet ships in the package. Select NO-POWER-CORD to leave it out, and the box then has no cord.
