C1300-24T-4G Description
The C1300-24T-4G is a Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series fanless Layer 3 access switch for branch cabinets and office floors where every wired device has its own power source. The switch has 24 Gigabit RJ-45 data ports with no PoE output, four dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks and 56 Gbps of nonblocking switching capacity. Routing covers RIP v2 and policy-based routing with up to 990 IPv4 routes, and the model is not on any Catalyst 1300 hardware stacking list.

Key Features
The four SFP slots are separate ports, not copper/SFP combo pairs, so fiber uplinks do not take a desk port out of service. Two slots can face the site core while the other two reach a second building or a neighboring cabinet, with GLC-LH-SMD covering 10 km of single-mode fiber.
The chassis has no fan, measures 240 mm deep in one rack unit, and ships with 19-inch brackets in the box. Worst-case draw is 14.6W at 110V, which adds only 50.5 BTU/hr of heat to a closed cabinet.
Up to 128 IP interfaces and 990 IPv4 routes let staff, voice and guest VLANs route on the switch itself. RIP v2 exchanges routes with the site router, and policy-based routing can send selected traffic to a different next hop. OSPF is not part of the feature set.
Application Scenarios
At a branch office, the switch sits in the network cabinet and connects desktops, printers and a local server, with fiber uplinks running to the building core over its SFP slots.
Because the switch has no fan, a design or accounting team can keep it on an open office floor, where it links two dozen workstations and routes their traffic between department VLANs.
A small hotel uses Guest VLAN and private VLAN on the switch to keep in-room wired guest connections apart from front-desk and back-office systems, while 802.1X controls which staff devices join the business network.

PoE separates C1300-24T-4G from C1300-24P-4G: both have 24 Gigabit ports, four 1G SFP uplinks and 56 Gbps, but only C1300-24P-4G powers phones, cameras or access points, with up to 30W of PoE+ per port from a 195W budget. Where the uplinks must run at 10G or several switches must operate as one, C1300-24T-4X adds four 10G SFP+ slots, 128 Gbps and C1300 Family 1 stacking of up to eight units. C1200-24T-4G keeps this port layout and 56 Gbps but routes with up to 32 static routes only, which suits sites whose router already handles all inter-VLAN traffic.
Ordering Checklist
- Uplink optics: Add one supported 1G SFP per uplink in use, such as GLC-SX-MMD for 550 m multimode, GLC-LH-SMD for 10 km single-mode or GLC-TE for copper. No optics ship in the box.
- Power cord option: Leave NO-POWER-CORD off the order unless cords are sourced locally, because selecting it removes the power cord from the package.
