C1300-24T-4X Description
The C1300-24T-4X is a Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series fixed managed Layer 3 switch for office and branch access closets whose endpoints are powered separately. The switch has 24 Gigabit Ethernet copper ports and four 10G SFP+ uplinks, with 128 Gbps of switching capacity, no PoE and a fanless chassis. Stacking is limited to C1300 Family 1 models, up to 8 units, and dynamic routing covers RIP v2 and policy-based routing but not OSPF.

Key Features
All 24 copper ports run 10/100/1000 without PoE output, so the switch suits endpoints that carry their own power. Switch power draw stays at 22.4W worst case at 220V.
Four SFP+ slots carry uplinks to a 10G aggregation layer. Stacking uses these same slots, so a unit that joins a stack gives up the ports it assigns to stacking.
The chassis has no fan, which removes fan noise and a moving part from office rooms, retail back rooms and compact cabinets.
Application Scenarios
In a small office, the switch connects desktop PCs, printers and kiosks over its 24 Gigabit copper ports and carries their traffic to the core on a 10G SFP+ uplink.
A retail back room or classroom cabinet can house the fanless chassis, which makes no fan noise while it serves point-of-sale terminals and wired workstations.
At a growing branch, additional C1300 Family 1 units join through SFP+ ports configured as stack ports, and up to eight switches then operate as one system with a single IP address.

C1300-24T-4X is the data-only model of this group: it shares the 24 gigabit copper ports, four 10G SFP+ uplinks and 128.0 Gbps of C1300-24P-4X and C1300-24FP-4X but supplies no PoE, which suits closets where every endpoint is powered separately. Phones, cameras or access points that need switch power call for C1300-24P-4X with a 195W budget, or C1300-24FP-4X with 375W. C1300-24T-4G swaps the uplinks for four Gigabit SFP ports and drops to 56.0 Gbps and 41.67 Mpps, so it only suits sites with no 10G aggregation link, and it is not listed among the C1300 Family 1 stack models that C1300-24T-4X belongs to.
Ordering Checklist
- Stack members: Stack only with C1300 Family 1 models: C1300-16P-4X, C1300-24T-4X, C1300-24P-4X, C1300-24FP-4X, C1300-48T-4X, C1300-48P-4X, C1300-48FP-4X, C1300-8MGP-2X, C1300-24MGP-4X or C1300-48MGP-4X, up to 8 units. Cisco does not support stacking across families, so a member from another family cannot join.
- Stack links: Add DAC cables (preferred) or 10G optics for the SFP+ uplinks that become stack ports, at least 2 per unit; avoid RJ45 SFPs such as SFP-10G-T-X. The switch has no stack ports by default, and a port configured for stacking no longer carries user traffic.
- SFP+ optics and cables: Add modules or cables from the Catalyst 1300 supported list for the 4 SFP+ uplinks, such as SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, SFP-H10GB-CU1M or SFP-10G-AOC1M. The switch ships without optics, so each SFP+ link needs its own module or cable on the order.
- Power cord: Keep the included power cord or select NO-POWER-CORD. A switch ordered with NO-POWER-CORD arrives without a cord.
