C1300-24P-4G Description
The C1300-24P-4G is a Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series fanless Layer 3 access switch for small offices, shops and classrooms that power a limited number of PoE+ endpoints. A 195W PoE budget is shared by all 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports, four 1G SFP slots handle the uplinks, and switching capacity reaches 56 Gbps. Routing runs on RIP v2 and static routes rather than OSPF, and the model is not on any Catalyst 1300 stacking list, so each switch is managed as a separate unit.

Key Features
Every port is rated for 30W of PoE+, but one 195W pool feeds all 24 of them. On this switch the budget, not the port count, sets how many high-draw cameras and access points can run at once.
The four SFP slots are dedicated uplinks rather than combo ports, for 28 Gigabit ports in total. Supported 1G optics range from GLC-SX-MMD at 550 m on multimode fiber to GLC-ZX-SMD at 70 km on single-mode, with GLC-TE for 100 m copper runs.
With no fan inside, the switch adds no fan noise to the room. That makes it practical to mount outside a wiring closet, in an open-plan office, a store or a classroom.
IPv4 and IPv6 traffic routes at wire speed between VLANs, with RIP v2 for dynamic routes and policy-based routing for steering specific flows. The routing table holds 990 IPv4 routes across up to 128 IP interfaces.
The model belongs to no Catalyst 1300 stacking family. A second switch at the same site keeps its own IP address and configuration, managed separately through Cisco Business Dashboard, the web UI or the CLI.
Persistent PoE keeps phones and cameras powered while the switch restarts, so a reboot after a firmware upgrade leaves powered endpoints running. Time-based PoE can also turn port power off on a schedule, such as outside business hours.
Application Scenarios
In an open-plan office, the switch can sit close to the desks without a closet, powering IP phones and ceiling access points over PoE+ while Voice VLAN keeps phone traffic in its own segment.
A retail store connects its IP cameras and in-store access points to the PoE+ ports, and one SFP slot carries a fiber link back to the main network cabinet in the back office.
Schools mount the unit in or near classrooms, where it powers wireless access points for students and teachers and hands their traffic to the building core over a 1G SFP uplink.

C1300-24P-4G and C1300-24FP-4G both have 24 PoE+ ports and four 1G SFP uplinks, and the PoE budget separates them: 195W here against 375W. A site that needs more than six devices at the full 30W, or a total PoE draw above 195W, should order C1300-24FP-4G and accept its single fan, rated at 39 dBA. Where no endpoint needs PoE, C1300-24T-4G keeps the same 24-port, 1G SFP layout without PoE output. C1300-24P-4X keeps the 195W budget and the fanless chassis but moves to four 10G SFP+ uplinks and 128 Gbps. It is also the model to order when switches must stack, since C1300 Family 1 stacks up to eight units.

- 1G SFP uplink modules: Add a supported 1G SFP such as GLC-SX-MMD, GLC-LH-SMD or GLC-TE for each uplink in use. The box holds only the switch, power cord, rack brackets and pointer card, so no optics arrive with it.
- Power cord: A power cord ships in the box by default, and selecting NO-POWER-CORD on the order removes it. Keep the default unless cords for the site are sourced separately.
