C1300-24XT Description
The C1300-24XT is a Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series fixed managed Layer 3 switch for branch offices and small businesses that cable 10G hosts with twisted pair. The switch has 20 10G copper ports and four copper/SFP+ combo ports, with 480 Gbps of nonblocking switching capacity, a 357.14 Mpps forwarding rate and no PoE. Stacking is limited to C1300 Family 2 models, up to 8 units, and 10G copper ports need Category 6a cabling or better.

Product Performance
Key Features
Twenty dedicated 10G copper ports and the copper side of four combo ports give up to 24 copper links, so 10G hosts connect over twisted pair without a transceiver per link.
Each of the four combo ports pairs a copper port with an SFP+ slot. A fiber or twinax link to the core uses a combo slot, and that pair’s copper port then goes unused.
Worst-case draw is 87.3W at 110V, dissipating 341.21 BTU/hr, and one fan is rated 28.7 dBA at 25°C. The figures set cooling and UPS load for a small equipment room.
Application Scenarios
At a branch office, the switch connects 10G-capable workstations to local file servers and printers over copper, with a combo SFP+ slot carrying a fiber handoff toward the main site.
In a small server room, the switch terminates 10G copper links from servers and iSCSI storage, and iSCSI traffic optimization gives that traffic priority over other flows.
On a floor that is moving hosts from 1G to 10G, the copper ports support both speeds, so existing gigabit devices stay connected while 10G hosts are added.

C1300-24XT differs from C1300-24XS in port media: it dedicates 20 ports to 10G copper against 20 SFP+ on the other, and the copper model draws 87.3W worst case at 110V against 49.46W, which matters for UPS and cooling sizing. Fiber or twinax-heavy closets belong on C1300-24XS. A rack that needs 12 copper and 12 SFP+ ports live at once, with no combo pairs, calls for C1300-24XTS. Closets with 12 copper links or fewer and 2 fiber handoffs can use C1300-12XT-2X, at 280 Gbps and a 3 MB buffer instead of 480 Gbps and 8 MB. All four are data-only C1300 Family 2 models, so neither PoE nor stack family separates them.
Ordering Checklist
- Stack members: Stack only with C1300 Family 2 models: C1300-12XT-2X, C1300-12XS, C1300-16XTS, C1300-24XS, C1300-24XT or C1300-24XTS, up to 8 units. Cisco does not support stacking across families, so a member from another family cannot join.
- Stack links: Add DAC cables (preferred) or 10G optics for the combo SFP+ slots that become stack ports, at least 2 per unit; avoid RJ45 SFPs such as SFP-10G-T-X. The switch has no stack ports by default, and a port configured for stacking no longer carries user traffic.
- SFP+ optics and cables: Add modules or cables from the Catalyst 1300 supported list for the 4 combo SFP+ slots used for fiber or twinax links, such as SFP-10G-SR, SFP-10G-LR, SFP-H10GB-CU1M or SFP-10G-AOC1M. The switch ships without optics, so each SFP+ link needs its own module or cable on the order.
- Power cord: Keep the included power cord or select NO-POWER-CORD. A switch ordered with NO-POWER-CORD arrives without a cord.
