The C9200CX-8P-2XGH-A is a Cisco Catalyst 9200CX Series compact access switch for edge sites that need PoE+ power without a fan. The switch has eight 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports with a 240W PoE budget, two 10G SFP+ and two 1G copper uplinks, and 60 Gbps of switching capacity, all supplied by a fixed 315W HVDC/AC internal power supply. The -A suffix carries Network Advantage, which adds BGP, PTP and MACsec-256, and the switch does not stack.

Key Features
The internal 315W HVDC/AC supply provides 240W of PoE across the eight ports, exactly 30W on each of the eight ports at the 802.3at maximum. The supply is a single fixed unit with no second supply slot.
The supply accepts 100-277 VAC at 50/60 Hz or 120-418 VDC through a Saf-D-Grid inlet, so the same switch fits an AC circuit or a DC microgrid.
On the C9200CX platform, Network Advantage is the tier that enables BGP, PTP and MACsec-256, in addition to EIGRP, HSRP and VRF-based segmentation.
A magnetic tray, DIN-rail bracket, 19-inch rack bracket, wall tray, under-desk mount or rubber feet for tabletop use all fit the 1.73 x 10.6 x 9.6 in chassis.
With no internal fan, the switch makes no fan noise and has no filter to service, which suits occupied or hard-to-reach locations.
A USB Type-A port takes a Cisco flash drive of 128 MB to 8 GB for auto-upgrade, and the Micro-SD slot can boot the switch directly.
Application Scenarios
In a small branch office, the switch powers access points and IP phones from its PoE+ ports and carries their traffic to the site router over the 10G SFP+ uplinks.
Mounted on a DIN rail or wall behind a kiosk or checkout island, the switch powers PoE terminals and cameras and keeps payment traffic in its own VRF.
In a utility room or equipment cabinet with a DC feed, the switch runs from 120-418 VDC and powers PTP-synchronized clocks and monitoring endpoints.

C9200CX-8P-2XGH-A is the PoE+ compact model of this group: eight data ports with a 240W PoE budget from a fixed 315W HVDC/AC supply, while C9200CX-12T-2X2G-A has 12 data ports, no PoE output, and takes power through its PD uplink or an optional adapter. Sites with eight or fewer powered endpoints stay on this model. Sites that need 24 PoE+ ports, StackWise-80 stacking or fan-cooled closet mounting should look at C9200L-24P-4X-E, which offers 370W of PoE on one supply and 740W with a second one, on Network Essentials. Sites that need none of BGP, PTP or MACsec-256 can order C9200CX-8P-2XGH-E on identical hardware, and an installed -E unit upgrades later with C9200CX-LIC= (C9200CX-8-E-A), bought separately.

- Power input: The internal 315W supply takes 120-418 VDC or 100-277 VAC through a Saf-D-Grid connector. No power cord is ordered; the customer supplies the cable and connector, confirmed with the Cisco representative, since the HVDC supply ships without a standard AC cord.
- Subscription tier: Select a Network Advantage subscription matching the -A suffix, such as C9200CX-DNA-A-8 (term PIDs C9200CX-DNAA8-3Y, -5Y or -7Y) or C9200CX-DNXA-8-3Y, -5Y or -7Y. The default is a 3-year Cisco DNA subscription; clear it first to switch to a Cisco Catalyst subscription.
- Console cable: Add a USB micro-B cable, or CAB-CON-USBRJ45 to convert to RJ45. A USB micro-B console cable is not included in the box.
