The C9200CX-8P-2XGH-E is a Cisco Catalyst 9200CX Series compact access switch for edge sites that need PoE+ power without a fan. The switch has eight 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports with a 240W PoE budget, two 10G SFP+ and two 1G copper uplinks, and 60 Gbps of switching capacity, all supplied by a fixed 315W HVDC/AC internal power supply. The -E suffix carries Network Essentials, which covers static and Routed Access routing with OSPF up to 1,000 routes but not BGP or PTP.

Key Features
The internal 315W HVDC/AC supply provides 240W of PoE across the eight ports, and it is a single fixed unit with no second supply slot. All eight ports can run 802.3af or 802.3at devices until the budget is used.
The supply accepts 100-277 VAC at 50/60 Hz or 120-418 VDC through a Saf-D-Grid inlet, so the same switch fits an AC circuit or a DC microgrid.
Network Essentials includes static routing, Routed Access with RIP, EIGRP Stub and OSPF up to 1,000 routes, PBR, VRRP, PVLAN, 802.1X and MACsec-128.
A magnetic tray, DIN-rail bracket, 19-inch rack bracket, wall tray, under-desk mount or rubber feet for tabletop use all fit the 1.73 x 10.6 x 9.6 in chassis.
With no internal fan, the switch makes no fan noise and has no filter to service, which suits occupied or hard-to-reach locations.
A built-in passive UHF RFID tag and a front-panel blue beacon LED let staff inventory the switch or find it among other wall-mounted units.
Application Scenarios
Behind a reception desk or retail counter, the switch powers an access point, an IP phone and a camera from its PoE+ ports and links to the building network over a 10G SFP+ uplink.
In a wall cabinet in a warehouse or workshop, the switch powers PoE cameras and wireless access points while running from a DC feed through its HVDC input.
In a small clinic or office suite, the switch mounts under a desk or on a wall and powers phones and wireless access points for the rooms nearby.

C9200CX-8P-2XGH-E and C9200CX-8P-2XGH-A are the same eight-port PoE+ chassis with a 240W budget and a fixed 315W supply, and only the license differs: this -E model runs Network Essentials, while C9200CX-8P-2XGH-A adds BGP, PTP and MACsec-256. Sites that may need those later can apply a C9200CX-LIC= term (C9200CX-8-E-A) to the installed unit, bought separately from the original order; sites that need them on day one order C9200CX-8P-2XGH-A. Sites that need 24 data ports or StackWise-80 stacking move to C9200L-24T-4G-A, but it has no PoE budget and only 1G SFP uplinks in place of 10G SFP+.

- Power input: The internal 315W supply takes 120-418 VDC or 100-277 VAC through a Saf-D-Grid connector. No power cord is ordered; the customer supplies the cable and connector, confirmed with the Cisco representative, since the HVDC supply ships without a standard AC cord.
- Subscription tier: Select a Network Essentials subscription matching the -E suffix, such as C9200CX-DNA-E-8 (term PIDs C9200CX-DNAE8-3Y, -5Y or -7Y) or C9200CX-DNXE-8-3Y, -5Y or -7Y. The default is a 3-year Cisco DNA subscription; clear it first to switch to a Cisco Catalyst subscription.
- Console cable: Add a USB micro-B cable, or CAB-CON-USBRJ45 to convert to RJ45. A USB micro-B console cable is not included in the box.
