The Essentials tier already covers Layer 2 switching, static routing, Routed Access with RIP, EIGRP Stub, and OSPF up to 1000 routes, PBR, PVLAN, VRRP, QoS, 802.1X, and MACsec-128, which is enough for a closet that stays within a 1G uplink ceiling and does not need EIGRP, HSRP, IS-IS, or VRF-lite/VXLAN/LISP segmentation. A single default PWR-C5-125WAC power supply covers normal operation, and because the model carries no PoE budget at either license tier, a second supply only buys redundancy against a unit failure rather than any added power headroom.
