C9300L-48T-4G-E Description
The C9300L-48T-4G-E is a Cisco Catalyst 9300L Series stackable access switch for wiring closets that connect locally powered endpoints over Gigabit copper. The switch has 48 10/100/1000 data-only ports, four fixed 1G SFP uplinks, 104 Gbps of switching capacity and Network Essentials licensing, with no PoE budget on its default 350W supply. Network Essentials covers Layer 2 and routed access with OSPF up to 1,000 routes, but not BGP, VXLAN or MPLS.

Key Features
The license covers Layer 2, routed access with OSPF up to 1,000 routes, 802.1X and MACsec-128. BGP, VXLAN and MPLS are Network Advantage features.
The 48 copper ports carry no PoE, so endpoints that need inline power require a separate power source.
Four SFP uplinks are built in, and the fixed-uplink design means no network module is chosen or installed.
Stacks of up to eight members use 320 Gbps links and lift switching capacity from 104 Gbps to 424 Gbps. All members need the same license level.
The 48 access ports and four uplinks total 52 Gbps, or 104 Gbps counted in both directions, so every port can run at full speed at once.
Cisco IOS XE 16.11.x release notes list no support for StackPower, mGig or breakout interfaces on C9300L models.
Application Scenarios
An office floor closet can connect desktops, printers and thin clients over 48 Gigabit copper ports and reach the distribution layer on four 1G SFP uplinks.
A library or classroom block where devices bring their own power can use the data-only ports without reserving any PoE capacity.

C9300L-48T-4G-E and C9300L-48T-4G-A share the same data-only hardware with 4 x 1G SFP uplinks and a PWR-C1-350WAC-P, and differ in license: C9300L-48T-4G-E ships with Network Essentials and C9300L-48T-4G-A with Network Advantage. When Network Advantage is needed on day one, order C9300L-48T-4G-A, or upgrade an installed switch later with a C9300L-LIC= term (C9300L-48-E-A-3, -5 or -7), which cannot be placed on the same order as the switch. Closets that need 10G/1G SFP+ uplinks move to C9300L-48T-4X-E at 176 Gbps standalone against 104 Gbps. Closets that power endpoints over Ethernet need C9300L-48P-4G-E, which keeps the 4 x 1G SFP uplinks and adds 505W of default PoE on a PWR-C1-715WAC-P.
Ordering Checklist
- Subscription term: Order a 48-port Cisco DNA Essentials term such as C9300L-DNA-E-48-3Y, C9300L-DNA-E-48-5Y or C9300L-DNA-E-48-7Y; CCW defaults to Advantage with a 5-year term. The subscription tier must match the Network Essentials or Network Advantage license on the switch, and the default does not suit every suffix.
- Second power supply: A second supply identical to the primary is selected by default; C9300L-SPS-NONE removes it. Without it the switch runs on one supply instead of the two-supply layout the configurator assumes.
- Stacking kit: C9300L-STACK-KIT with a 50 cm cable is the default; 1 m and 3 m cables are the other options. A stack needs the kit and a cable long enough for the rack layout.
- Power cords: Two cords ship per switch, North America by default; select the cord type for the destination country. The default cord does not fit outlets outside North America.
