C9300LM-24U-4Y-A Description
The C9300LM-24U-4Y-A is a Cisco Catalyst 9300LM Series stackable mini access switch for shallow wiring closets that power IP phones and access points. The switch has 24 UPOE ports at up to 1G, four fixed 25G SFP28 uplinks and 248 Gbps of switching capacity under Network Advantage, and its default PWR-C6-600WAC supply provides a 420W PoE budget. A second PWR-C6-1KWAC supply raises the budget to 1420W, and 1440W needs PWR-C6-1KWAC as the primary supply as well. The chassis does not support StackPower.

Key Features
The chassis measures 13.03 in deep without the power supply. That fits shallow racks and wall-mount cabinets where full-depth Catalyst 9300 switches do not.
The default PWR-C6-600WAC supply gives 420W of PoE, about 17W per port if all 24 UPOE ports draw power at once. Adding a PWR-C6-1KWAC secondary supply lifts the budget to 1420W. The design ceiling is 1440W (24 ports at 60W), reached only when PWR-C6-1KWAC is the primary supply and a 1000W AC or 715W DC supply is the secondary; PWR-C6-1KWAC alone as primary gives 820W.
The four SFP28 uplinks are built into the chassis and run at 25G, so there is no module slot to configure. Distribution links can use 25G optics or DAC cables directly.
Network Advantage adds BGP, IS-IS and unlimited OSPF routes, VRF, VXLAN, Cisco TrustSec and MPLS, NETCONF and RESTCONF automation, and MACsec-256. Network Essentials stops at Layer 2 and routed access.
StackWise-320 joins up to eight switches and accepts both Catalyst 9300LM and 9300L members, provided they share a license level. Modular-uplink Catalyst 9300 and 9300X switches cannot join the stack.
The Catalyst 9300LM chassis has no StackPower, so each switch is powered from its own supplies. It also has no hardware IPsec acceleration, which matters for encrypted uplinks.
Application Scenarios
In a floor wiring closet with limited rack depth, the switch powers IP phones and access points over UPOE and carries their traffic upstream on 25G SFP28 uplinks.
A branch office that keeps guest, staff and building-system traffic apart can run VRF and Cisco TrustSec segmentation on the switch, since Network Advantage includes both.
A campus building that outgrows one switch can join this model to other Catalyst 9300LM or 9300L members in a StackWise-320 stack of up to eight units at a matching license level.

C9300LM-24U-4Y-A and C9300LM-24U-4Y-E share the same mini chassis, 24 UPOE ports, 4x 25G SFP28 uplinks and 420W default budget on PWR-C6-600WAC; the only difference is that this -A model adds Network Advantage, with VRF, VXLAN and Cisco TrustSec. A site that needs none of these can use C9300LM-24U-4Y-E with no port or power change. Cisco lists no Advantage-to-Essentials downgrade PID, and Essentials moves up only through a C9300L-LIC= term (C9300L-24-E-A-3, -5 or -7) that cannot be on the switch order. Loads above 420W, 8 Multigigabit ports or 10G SFP+ uplinks point to C9300L-24UXG-4X-A, which defaults to 880W.

Ordering Checklist
- Subscription tier: Order an Advantage term of 3, 5 or 7 years from the 24-port C9300L fixed-uplink family (C9300L-DNA-A-24 naming). The Cisco DNA tier has to match the Network Advantage hardware.
- Second power supply: Select PWR-C6-1KWAC as the secondary supply, or keep the blank module the second bay ships with. The default PWR-C6-600WAC gives 420W of PoE, and a secondary PWR-C6-1KWAC raises it to 1420W.
- Stack kit: Order C9300L-STACK-KIT2 with a STACK-T3A-50CM, STACK-T3A-1M or STACK-T3A-3M cable. Catalyst 9300LM uses only the Type 3A kit; C9300L-STACK-KIT does not apply.
- Stack partners: Run Network Advantage on every C9300L or C9300LM member of the stack. StackWise-320 mixing between the two lines needs the same license level on all members.
