The switch has 24 ports at up to 1G with Cisco UPOE, four fixed 25G SFP28 uplinks and 248 Gbps of switching capacity under Network Essentials, with a 420W PoE budget on the default PWR-C6-600WAC supply. Network Essentials covers Layer 2 and OSPF routing up to 1,000 routes but not BGP, VRF or VXLAN, and the chassis does not support StackPower.

At 13.03 in deep without the power supply, the chassis fits racks and wall-mount cabinets that reject standard Catalyst 9300 depth.

420W Default PoE Budget

One PWR-C6-600WAC supply provides 420W for 24 UPOE ports, which averages about 17W per port at full load. A PWR-C6-1KWAC secondary supply raises the budget to 1420W.

Fixed 25G SFP28 Uplinks

Four 25G SFP28 uplinks come built into the chassis and cannot be swapped for another module. Links to the distribution layer therefore run at 25G, or at 10G or 1G with matching optics.

Network Essentials Feature Set

Network Essentials covers Layer 2 switching, OSPF routed access up to 1,000 routes, PIM stub multicast, VRRP, 802.1X and MACsec-128. VRF, VXLAN and MACsec-256 are not included.

  • Subscription tier: Order a 3, 5 or 7 year Catalyst Essentials term from the 24-port C9300L/LM family (C9300L-DNX-E-24-3Y, C9300L-DNX-E-24-5Y or C9300L-DNX-E-24-7Y). The subscription tier has to match the Network Essentials hardware, and upgrading later uses C9300L-LIC=.
  • Second power supply: Select PWR-C6-1KWAC as the secondary supply, or keep the blank module the second bay ships with. The default PWR-C6-600WAC gives 420W of PoE, and a secondary PWR-C6-1KWAC raises it to 1420W.
  • Stack kit: Order C9300L-STACK-KIT2 with a STACK-T3A-50CM, STACK-T3A-1M or STACK-T3A-3M cable. Catalyst 9300LM uses only the Type 3A kit; C9300L-STACK-KIT does not apply.
  • Stack partners: Run Network Essentials on every C9300L or C9300LM member of the stack. StackWise-320 mixing between the two lines needs the same license level on all members.
