C9300-24UX-E is the Network Essentials version of the 24-port 10G Multigigabit UPOE hardware that is also sold as C9300-24UX-A, and the license tier is the only difference. Essentials covers Layer 2 and routed access with OSPF up to 1,000 routes; a design that needs VRF, VXLAN, TrustSec, BGP or MACsec-256 on day one must order C9300-24UX-A, and an installed switch is upgraded later with a C9300-24-E-A-3, -5 or -7 term, which cannot be bought on the same order as the hardware. Gigabit access with 830W of default PoE moves to C9300-24U-E, or to C9300-24H-E when UPOE+ endpoints are planned.
