C9300-24UX-A Description
The C9300-24UX-A is a Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series access switch built around 24 Multigigabit copper ports, each negotiating 100 Mbps, 1G, 2.5G, 5G, or 10G and supporting Cisco UPOE power delivery to the connected device. It carries a modular uplink bay rather than a fixed uplink, so the operator selects the uplink speed and media by installing a network module such as the 8x 10G/1G C9300-NM-8X or the 2x 40G C9300-NM-2Q rather than being locked into a factory-fixed port set. The -A ordering line ships with Network Advantage, the Catalyst 9300 license tier that adds advanced routing, network segmentation, and automation entitlements to the same 24-port mGig UPOE hardware sold as the Network Essentials C9300-24UX-E. With the default PWR-C1-1100WAC-P supply installed, the switch provides a 560W PoE budget, and it joins the Catalyst 9300 StackWise-480 fabric for up to eight units in a single stack with StackPower support for shared power redundancy. The -A ordering line unlocks advanced routing protocols, VRF/VXLAN segmentation, and model-driven automation (NETCONF/RESTCONF/YANG) that are not available on the Network Essentials variant, which matters for access switches that also need to participate in Layer 3 segmentation or automated provisioning.

2. Full 10G Reach Across 24 Ports Over 48-Port Partial Reach
Choosing between the C9300-24UX-A and the C9300-48UXM-A is a tradeoff between full 10G reach and port density: the C9300-24UX-A gives every one of its 24 ports a 10G ceiling, while the C9300-48UXM-A spreads the same modular-uplink hardware across 48 ports but limits full Multigigabit speed to only 12 of them, so a design needing more than 24 access points at Multigigabit speed does not fit either SKU cleanly and should be evaluated against the higher-port Multigigabit models before defaulting to the C9300-48UXM-A.
