The C9300L-48P-4X-M is a Cisco Catalyst 9300L fixed-uplink stackable access switch for Meraki-managed branch and campus closets that power 1G endpoints. The switch has 48 PoE+ ports, four 10G/1G SFP+ uplinks, 176 Gbps of switching capacity (496 Gbps with stacking) and a 505W default PoE budget on its 715W supply. The -M suffix carries Meraki Advanced or Enterprise licensing, and stacking needs the C9300L-STACK-KIT2 stack kit.

Key Features
The -M model is managed from the Meraki Dashboard, which handles cloud configuration, remote troubleshooting, topology visibility and firmware scheduling. A Meraki term license of 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 years is required for the Dashboard to recognize the switch.
The 715W supply leaves 505W for PoE, about 10.5W per port if all 48 ports draw power at once. A second 1100W supply raises the available PoE to 1440W, which is limited by port count and port rating.
Four built-in SFP+ ports take 10G or 1G modules, so the uplink speed can change by swapping optics rather than a network module.
Stacking hardware is optional: the C9300L-STACK-KIT2 adds two adapters and a cable, and up to eight Catalyst 9300L and 9300LM switches join one stack at 320 Gbps.
A single switch moves 176 Gbps and 130.95 Mpps, which rises to 496 Gbps and 369.05 Mpps inside a stack.
The switch draws 67.40W when idle and up to 598.6W at maximum load, which sets the circuit and UPS sizing for a closet of these switches.
Application Scenarios
A branch office managed from the Meraki Dashboard can use the switch to power phones and access points over its 48 PoE+ ports while operations staff handle configuration and firmware scheduling from the cloud.
In a campus wiring closet moving from 1G to 10G uplinks, the four fixed SFP+ ports carry traffic to the distribution layer without a modular uplink slot.
Several closet switches can join a StackWise-320 stack of up to eight Catalyst 9300L and 9300LM members at the same license level, which gives the closet one logical switch with 320 Gbps of stacking bandwidth.

C9300L-48P-4X-M and C9300L-48PF-4X-M share 48 PoE+ ports and four fixed 10G/1G SFP+ uplinks, but C9300L-48P-4X-M starts at 505W of PoE on its 715W supply, while C9300L-48PF-4X-M starts at 890W on an 1100W supply. Ordering Checklist
- Meraki term license: Order Meraki Enterprise or Advanced with a 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 year term as a separate line. The Meraki dashboard does not recognize the switch without it.
- Stack kit: Add a stack kit from the C9300L-STACK-KIT family when switches are stacked, up to 8 per stack. The StackWise-320 ports need a kit and cable, and a -M order selects accessories as separate line items.
- Second power supply and cords: Add a second supply if needed, and select the power cord type for the destination country. A single supply keeps PoE at 505W, and neither the second supply nor the cords are added automatically on a -M order.
