C9300L-48P-4X-A Description
The C9300L-48P-4X-A is a Cisco Catalyst 9300L Series fixed-uplink stackable access switch for wiring closets that need segmented, routed access for PoE+ endpoints. The switch has 48 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports, four fixed 10G/1G SFP+ uplinks, 176 Gbps of switching capacity and a 505W default PoE budget. The -A suffix carries Network Advantage, which adds VRF, VXLAN, Cisco TrustSec, MACsec-256 and OSPF without a route limit over Network Essentials.

Key Features
Advantage adds BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, OSPF without a route limit, VRF, VXLAN, LISP and Cisco TrustSec to the Essentials base. These features let the closet segment and route traffic locally.
MACsec-256 link encryption and NETCONF, RESTCONF and gRPC interfaces come with the Advantage level. Essentials stops at MACsec-128 and does not include them.
The default 715W supply leaves 505W for PoE. A second 350W supply gives 855W, a 715W supply 1220W and a 1100W supply 1440W, which is 30W on each of the 48 ports.
Four SFP+ uplinks take 10G or 1G optics and are part of the base switch. No network module is involved in choosing uplink speed.
Up to eight units share a StackWise-320 stack, which raises switching capacity from 176 Gbps to 496 Gbps. Members can be Catalyst 9300L or 9300LM models on the same license level.
Three field-replaceable fans run in an N+1 arrangement, so one fan can be swapped without taking down the access points the closet powers.
Application Scenarios
In a campus wiring closet, the switch keeps department or tenant traffic apart with VRF and VXLAN while it powers phones and access points from its PoE+ ports.
A building closet that routes locally can stack up to eight switches over StackWise-320 and run OSPF without the 1,000-route ceiling of Network Essentials, with 10G SFP+ uplinks toward distribution.
In a hospital or clinic wing, the switch connects PoE+ phones and access points and applies MACsec-256 and Cisco TrustSec policy where security requirements call for them.

C9300L-48P-4X-A and C9300L-48P-4X-E have the same 48 PoE+ ports, 505W default budget and 176 Gbps of switching, and differ only in license: Network Advantage adds VRF, VXLAN, Cisco TrustSec, unlimited-route OSPF and MACsec-256, so a closet limited to Layer 2 and routed access with up to 1,000 OSPF routes can order C9300L-48P-4X-E instead. Closets whose PoE+ load exceeds 505W move to C9300L-48PF-4X-A, which ships a PWR-C1-1100WAC-P and 890W of PoE budget; both models reach 1440W with a second supply. Racks with no powered devices use C9300L-48T-4X-A, which has a 350W supply and no PoE.

Ordering Checklist
- Subscription tier and term: Order a 48-port Advantage term: C9300L-DNA-A-48-3Y, -5Y or -7Y, or the Catalyst equivalent C9300L-DNX-A-48-3Y, -5Y or -7Y. A term subscription is mandatory on a new order and must match the Network Advantage tier; the configurator defaults to Advantage with a 5-year term.
- Second power supply: A second supply matching the first is selected by default; keep it or select C9300L-SPS-NONE to remove it. The second supply decides how much PoE budget is available to powered devices.
- Stack kit: C9300L-STACK-KIT is the default and includes a 50 cm cable; select 1 m or 3 m instead, or choose C9300L-STACK-KIT2. A stack member without the adapters and a cable cannot join a StackWise-320 stack.
- Power cords: Select the cord type for the destination country; the configurator defaults to North America and ships two cords. Cords for the wrong country do not fit the site outlets.
