It features 48 fixed 1 Gbps SFP downlink ports with no PoE, powered by a default 715 W AC power supply for system operation. The switch delivers 256 Gbps of wire-speed switching capacity and, when stacked via StackWise-480, provides 736 Gbps switching capacity with stacking, forwarding up to 190.47 Mpps (553.42 Mpps when stacked) for latency-sensitive traffic. A front-slot accepts a field-replaceable network module for 1 GbE, 10 GbE, 25 GbE, 40 GbE, or 100 GbE uplinks, allowing seamless uplink flexibility. Running Cisco IOS XE with the Network Advantage image, the C9300-48S-A supports full Layer 3 routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VRF-Lite), VXLAN-based segmentation, TrustSec policy enforcement, and hardware-based MACsec-128 encryption. Its UADP 2.0 ASIC provides deep buffers, hardware ACL acceleration, and Flexible NetFlow for advanced telemetry. Ideal for fiber-connected campus closets, data center top-of-rack aggregation, or high-density branch backbones, this model balances fiber connectivity, advanced security, and programmability.
